In 2025, Texas represented a higher share of truck crash deaths and injuries than its share of total reported large-truck crashes.

That gap matters. It suggests that Texas truck crashes are not just frequent. They are also more likely to produce serious harm compared with the state’s share of total reported crashes.

Several factors may contribute to serious truck accident risk in Texas, including:

Long interstate freight corridors

High-speed highway travel

Heavy oilfield, refinery, construction, and industrial traffic

Large rural road networks

Cross-border and port-related freight movement

High volumes of commercial vehicles in major metro areas

Long driving distances between cities and job sites

For injured Texans, these cases often require a detailed investigation into the truck driver, trucking company, maintenance records, driver logs, cargo loading, vehicle condition, and federal safety compliance.

Truck Accident Trends in Houston and Harris County

Houston remains one of the most important truck accident markets in Texas because of its freight, port, industrial, petrochemical, and highway activity.
