Dram shop claims arise when a bar, restaurant, nightclub, or alcohol-serving business overserves a visibly intoxicated person who later causes an injury or fatal crash. “Dram” comes from an 18th-Century British word for measuring liquor – hence, “dram shops.”<\/p>
