If you were in a hit-and-run accident, you need to call the police immediately. You are the victim of a crime. This is called "failed to stop and give information," or "FSGI" for short. This is a Class D misdemeanor, and it's very important that you file a police report. Also, it's possible that two policies will be applied if the other person is not identified or if they don't have insurance. Then, you could go under UM, Uninsured Motorist, and, also, you can see whether or not you have PIP in your own policy. Uninsured Motorist and PIP are coverages under your policy that, possibly, you get when you're a victim of a hit-and-run accident.
